In power utilities, an answer has to be defensible, not only accurate.

Load forecasts, asset replacement plans, and outage response all face regulatory review, and the record of how a number was produced carries weight years later. Distributed resources and interconnection volume keep changing the conditions those plans assume.

01 · The shift

Distributed resources changed the planning problem.

Rooftop solar, storage, and vehicle charging turned load into net load, and feeder behavior no longer follows the historical profile. Planning, procurement, and switching decisions now rest on forecasts built from AMI intervals, weather, and market data rather than last year's curve.

02 · Our stance

Auditability belongs in the architecture.

A forecast that informs a rate filing or a replacement plan has to show its inputs, its version, and its assumptions long after the decision. We build lineage, versioning, and review records in while they are cheap, rather than reconstructing them under a discovery request.

03 · The capacity

Grid and field records already carry the signal.

Transformer loading histories, SCADA event logs, inspection and outage records, and AMI intervals support condition scoring, anomaly detection, and outage prediction. Connecting those records to work management moves maintenance from the calendar to the condition, which changes what a crew gets dispatched to do.
